So most stories in games and movies is centered around men and male narratives. Much have been said about that so I do not feel the need to elaborate myself on it. But in the Minetest project Lord of the test just like in the stories inspiring it there is a lack of women. Or more like, there is none at all. So I’ve taken on myself to add a second gender to all mobs, starting with the dwarfs.
I will try to avoid makin the classic “ms. male caracter” where standard female traits are added to the male caracter. As in adding makeup, a bow, a dress or lots of bare skin. Since the boxy shape of the minetest caracters is more male like it’s not super easy but I think I have succeded in what I tried to.
The female dwarf have no beard, less bushy eyebrows and a higher waist. I also made her a redhead.
Since we see almost no females in the stories, they have to be somewhere else then on the battlefield. So her weapon of choice is a pickaxe for mining deep underground. But since lott is a world in war she ofc. have to have proper protection too so I kept the armor with some minor changes.

Something I’ve been missing in lord of the test is some kind of decoration for townbuilding. You would think that the medival setting would mean carts full of apples, taverns, barbers and such but the decorative elements are indeed lacking. For a game that is so new most things are working perfectly well but its kinda bare. So I’m working on a project of decorations for a normal city, starting with store signs. As an unexperienced coder I’ve looked at the signs_lib and default signs coding to se how they work and if I could possible make a “type and get the sign”-thing but still have no Idea if I even will get close. But just modifying and trying to identify parts of code helps me understand Lua better and better.
What I’ve been working on the last days is a typeface and a background for the signs.
So there is a Minetest-gamemod “Moon Test” which is a lovely experience in itself but in thecurrent stage of development it is a bit pale. Mobs and other “creatures” would been awesome. Unfortunately, my codingskills is not so well developed (and 100% self taught). They is right now made up my by me tinkering the code to the existing mods and see what happens. So it takes a long time and the result is not always so good.
What I‘m good at is to draw and create. So I made a skin for an undead cosmonaut so when someone will sit down and write mods to the moon tests, there is one already. I’m thinking about making small robots, and might get me into the fight with Blender again. But we’ll see.
Trying to build my kingdom for the clanwars server in Lord of the test. The progress is hindered by me cutting my fingernail in half.
But I have a skin I’m ok with so everything is not fail.

I’m working on updating the Lord Of The Test-Wikipage and noticed that the Farming category needed to be updated. With some help from mmn-o I used grep to list all the different food and their hp. Quite useful.
And since you can get damage in 1/2 a heart I assume that the definition follows that rule.
I have been missing a good-looking mod for hatches in Minetest since I have a thing for cellars. So I searched for a mod in the forum and found a working one but was not so pretty and I wanted it to work with the wood in Lord of the test.
I used this and modified it with new textures and support for Lott. And found that the node where flipped when open so the new hatches required two textures, one for open and one for closed.
I tried to modify the doors mod to work with the hatches but that was too complicated for me, but maybe someone else can rewrite it to be a bit more efficient.
